Cyclone Gabrielle

February 12th, 2023

Bare, windswept and wet!

Opua Marina, Bay of Islands, NZ.

A wild day due to the Cyclone passing over us. Winds have averaged high 20s low 30s with gusts 50-60 knts. Torrential rain.

Pressure has been steadily dropping over the last 48 hours. Currently 998 mb.

Keeping an eye out for others and sad to hear of damage occurring close to us.

We’re in for a wild night aboard and hoping for a bit of a brief break tomorrow when the eye of the cyclone is predicted to pass close to the east.

All’s well aboard.

Cheers from Skipper Adam
