Boat jobs on anchor!

November 19th, 2022

The weather has been no good for sailing so time to get on with some boat jobs. Two main things needed progressing. One being the installation of our Fusion sound system and two being install of more interior LED lights.

The sound system installation was straightforward with time mainly required for routing wire connections between the headunit and the boat’s switchboard through a main bulkhead. From memory, about 20 heatshrink butt connectors needed to be crimped and then shrunk with the little butane torch. Also fitting the four speakers, two in bulkheads and two in existing purpose-built boxes in the saloon. Really happy with the system.

LED light installations were three units today, one sealed unit in the galley and one each in the saloon and forepeak. I had previously fitted LED bulbs to the existing fittings but the result is much better to replace fittings with modern LED units.

We also did two trips to Russell today to dispose of rubbish/recycling and replenish some supplies.

Travelling back to Te Tāiko from Russell for the second time today.

Cheers from Skipper Adam.
