Today’s passage was north up the coast from BOI to the Cavalli Islands. The conditions were 15 knots SW which put us on a beam reach most of the way. With full sail up we had speeds over ground up to 7.5 knots and averaged a little over 5 knots. SE swell 1.5 m was reflecting off the rocky coastline between the Ninepine and the Needles making for a roller ride along that stretch.
Motored the last few miles into the Cavalli Passage as the wind died and turned to the north light, as predicted.
Anchored at Waiiti Bay which is at the southwest corner of Motukawanui Island. Very attractive bay with clear water and regenerating forest on the island. Anchored in 7 m of water.
