Today was a consistently wet day with thick cloud cover (including thunderstorms) which impacts on the output from our solar array. We have two 390 W panels which each operate at 48 V.
While we have still managed to generate 530 Wh this hasn’t been enough to bring the batteries out of bulk charge phase - which occurs when the batteries reach 80% charged.
There is sunshine in the forecast tomorrow and what happens is the solar controller chucks full amps into the batteries (60 amps) until absorption/80% charge is reached. Always entertaining to see in action!
Today was a better day for harvesting rainwater rather than solar electricity!
Cheers from Skipper Adam
